To me, this sewing machine is ideal for anyone who has just started sewing or who wants a basic sewing machine without spending a lot of money. This model is an affordable startup option and provides for a great user experience. As long as you don't expect it to have the bells and whistles of an 'advanced' model but just want a basic machine then for the price the Singer 2259 is a great buy.

This sewing machine contains snap-on presser feet so you do not have to hassle with the presser feet which is nice. All you have to do is snap it on and you are ready to go which is nice.

Designed to be intuitive, this sewing machine features easy stitch selection as well as an automatic buttonholer. You can customize the strength length to ensure that the fabric does not bunch up and each seam comes out smoothly. You can also change the zigzag width for the stitches. Also, this machine was created with automatic bobbin winding and an extra-high presser foot lifter to heighten the user’s experience. Like most of their products, Singer offers the 2259 with a 25 year limited warranty. Other additional features of this sewing machine include a four-segment dog system. For new users, the dog system is incorporated into the machine and ensures that each bit of fabric is moved from the front of the presser foot to the end. This ensures a better feeding system and fewer instances of bunched fabric.

This model also offers multiple needle positions, a heavy duty frame and automatic tension. If you need to, you can also manually override the automatic tension feature to get the exact stitch quality that you desire. With a free arm for storage and portable design, this model is made to be exceptionally convenient for new crafters. Accessories that come with the sewing machine include an oil bottle, needles, a foot pedal, a power cord and a screwdriver. You will also receive a zipper foot, a seam ripper, bobbins, a quilting guide and a lint brush.

For a lower end machine, this model performs exceptionally well. Since it is a less-expensive sewing machine, it comes with a unique set of issues. A few users report having bad tension control and knotted thread but others say that the tension is great so it may be an issue that is just a machine by machine issues. Although this machine is intended for beginners, it seems like someone forgot to tell the person who created the instruction manual. Directions are a little shaky and can be difficult to understand.

Overall, the Singer 2259 is a great machine to buy if you are new to sewing or trying to save money.
