The Brother LS2125i sewing machine was created for any experience level of sewing.  As one of the company’s inexpensive models, this machine offers a few extra design options than is normally available on cheaper machines and is a relatively good value.

The Brother LS-2125i is designed with an electric foot pedal that controls the speed of stitches. The foot pedal can be easily snapped on or off for a quick replacement. The sewing machine is also outfitted with a light bulb that helps to ensure easy visibility for the thread and fabric.

Offering a four-step buttonholer, this model comes equipped with a screwdriver, extra spool pin, darning needle, bobbins and twin needle. It also comes with an instruction manual that is printed in four different languages.

Pros:
  • Inexpensive
  • Easy to Use
Cons:
  • Thread sometimes gets caught
  • Instruction Manual can be confusing

Made to be exceptionally lightweight, this sewing machine has straight, zigzag and satin stitching options. Users can select to have their quilt or clothes stitched with a straight, darning, mending, stretch blend, over lock or elastic stitch. This machine will also work well for zipper insertions, bar tacks, gathering and buttonholes. With just one touch of a lever, users can change into reverse stitching mode, set the stitch width, adjust the needles position or change the presser’s foot height. A feature that I think is nice with the machine is that it makes storing parts easier because it is outfitted with a built-in storage compartment. This storage compartment is smoothly integrated into the free arm and holds most of the extra accessories that come with the machine. It also boasts of a tension adjustment dial and can convert to a free-arm design.

Brother has ensured that this machine is easy to transport. In keeping with that philosophy, the sewing machine has an integrated handle located on the top. Another nice feature is that the LS2125i comes with a limited 25-year warranty to protect against unusual breakages or issues. Since top models on the market will generally cost over $1,000, the Brother LS2125i is a relatively good value for its price. One issue reported by users is caused by the instruction manual. The terms and descriptions in the manual do not always match up with the picture. Some of this mismatch is caused by the fact that the instruction manual was printed in four languages. Judging by its quality, it looks like the writers were trying to conserve space and cut down on their descriptions. As a result, the instruction manual can be confusing and difficult to read.

A few other users report that the thread can get stuck on the wheel while in use. This problem is further compacted by the fact that the machine tends to go just one speed. When sewing along curves, the machine goes too fast for the material.

Most users who bought the Brother LS2125i reported that their experience was a good one. Intermediate sewers will be able to ignore any instruction manual issues since the design of the sewing machine is extremely intuitive. The Brother LS2125i also works extremely well with medium-weight woven fabrics and has a reasonable price.
